Your Little Bubble...

A lot of us live in this world and are blind. We walk through life wrapped up inside our little bubbles thinking we are experiencing life for what it truly is. Often we are so blinded by this blanket that we do not see past the masks put on by those we encounter. Our relationships are so skin deep. In fact we become so used to not being personal with people we live our entire lives not really knowing more than a few close family members.

I recently experienced something mind blowing. My mother deals with at risk youth and I have been following in her footsteps. Recently a young girl showed up at my door after being missing for a few months in a frantic panic. I looked at her with very compassionate and open eyes and all I could think about was how good I have it. She explained to me that she was caught up in a human trafficking ring and was forced into drugs, prostitution and stripping. After sharing with me her story she told me she was 16. We later brought her to a shelter and are still looking for a permanent place for her.

I left that situation changed. I had heard about this type of thing but when something as serious as human trafficking hits that close to home, you are bound to have a life changing encounter. So why is it that we lead such impersonal lives? I challenge you to step outside of your bubble and experience life for the first time.

God Bless You.
